How to Promote your Direct Sales Online Party

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

When you decide to have an online party for your direct sales business you need to find ways to promote it. There’s nothing worse then having a secret meeting (otherwise known as a meeting where nobody shows up).

There are so many ways you can promote your online party. You should promote it both online and offline. You never know, you may have people locally that would like to attend.

Here are suggestions for promoting your party online.

1. Facebook

You should make a post on your Facebook home page. If you make a lot of posts, you should do this every couple of days so it stays towards the top of your page.

Send a message to all of your friends and invite them to your party. Make sure you give them details such as time, date, and location. Send the reminder again the day before your party as well.

If you are a part of any fan page or group that allows you to advertise, you can place the information on the wall. You’ll want to make sure you follow the rules so you don’t get kicked off the board for spam.

How to decide if a Business is a Scam

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

A scam is something nobody wants to be a part of. It’s not good for your name and you could lose a lot of money if you think it’s a good business.

There are several things you should look for in a business to see if it’s a scam or a good business. Here are some suggestions to consider when you’re looking for a business to run.

1. Sounds too good to be true

If a business sounds too good to be true, it probably is a scam. Those that say you can make $10,000 a day are more than likely not a good one to be apart of. Those that say you don’t have to do anything at all and you’ll make money are possibly a scam as well. While you’ll make money from people your downline puts under you it’s probably not enough to make a good living from even if they tell you otherwise.

2. Fees up front

While some businesses require a fee to join and be a builder, this fee shouldn’t be a lot. This is not always the case because some businesses require you to have products on hand to build. You’ll need to be really careful with this and make sure you have a complete understanding before you join.

Online logos are lure for work-at-home schemes

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Through Tweets, e-mail and Web sites, job hunters are being told they can make lots of money from the comfort of home using Twitter and Google. Better Business Bureau warns that the large print for such offers may promise big returns but the fine print can cost them every month.

“Web sites often use the Twitter or the Google name and prominently display their iconic logos in their marketing,” says Michael Coil, BBB president and CEO. “Consumers often assume they are getting a job with Google when in fact they are getting taken in by yet another work-at-home scheme.”

Work-at-home schemes have often preyed on unsuspecting job hunters, and now social media is being used as a way to persuade cash-strapped individuals that they can make quick and easy money. E-mail, Internet and text messaging are the top ways fraudsters are targeting the public.

Several consumers fell for schemes like Google Success Kits in 2009.

New Direct Selling Company For Men-Man Cave

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

When Jim Wiebusch began planning for his first Man Cave party, he admits some of his best buddies weren’t so sure about it.

One of them texted him: “Is this like a Tupperware party, for men?”
“No, it’s like a Mary Kay party,” Wiebusch replied.

Call it what you will, but Man Cave Worldwide is a growing business of men selling to men. Similar to other direct-selling companies, like Tastefully Simple or Pampered Chef, Man Cave sells products related to beer, grilling and other manly pursuits.

Men, however, don’t host parties; they host “meatings” where the manly guys get together and a Man Cave “adviser” teaches them new grilling techniques while talking about the company’s products, drinking a couple of beers and shooting the breeze.

“It comes off as chauvinist, as men in their man cave, but that’s the fun of it, to be able to put on that face for one night,” said Man Cave Worldwide Founder and CEO Nick Beste. “I think that men like it that they go there and grunt and drink a beer and eat all this meat.”
