How to Grow your List for your Business?


All businesses should have a list. These lists should be broken down into the reasons they joined. For example, you should have a list of current customers, past customers, and potential customers.

The main reason for a list is to keep in touch with people. When you continually place your business in front of people they’ll remember you when they need what you offer. The easiest way to keep in touch with the people on your list is to create a newsletter and send it out.

You should send your newsletter out at least once a month, but it would be better to send it out weekly if you can make time for that. If you can’t create a newsletter each week, create a note that you can send out in the off weeks.

There are a number of things you can do to grow your list. You want to continually add people to the list so more and more people will see what you offer. Here are a few suggestions to help you with the task of growing.

1. Offer something for free when people join. People like receiving something for free so why not take advantage of that? Write a short ebook or special report and send it to those that join your list.

2. Run a contest for those that join your list between certain dates. You can give away a free product or an ebook. Contests are always fun and when you promote them you may have a large number of new people.

3. Create a fun button that goes on your site that will grab the attention of your visitors. When you make it stand out they won’t miss it and they’ll want to join because you made it look inviting.

4. Add the link to your social networking sites. Almost all sites have an area that’s specifically for links. They put it there for a reason, so you might as well use it.

5. Promoting your online newsletter offline is a good idea too. People may not know about your business unless you tell them, so create a flyer or business card that has the link and a brief description of your list.

6. At the bottom of each newsletter you should include the link and invite your current subscribers to forward the message to others and encourage them to join.

Every business should have a newsletter that goes out to their list. A list is one of the easiest ways to grow your business. However, they will sit dormant if you don’t promote them and use them. When you use the suggestions above you’ll begin to see the growth you want to see.
