If you don’t tell people you’re in business you won’t have success. They aren’t going to know what you have to offer if you don’t tell them how you can help them and where to find you. It just isn’t going to happen, so you must use marketing to make it happen.
There are many different ways to market your business. Some of them are traditional like social networking, banner ads, text ads, and links. These are used by a lot of different types of businesses and they’re very successful when used properly.
You also will find non-traditional marketing techniques that work very well. Some of these are not thought of by some, but have been very successful by those that have used them. Here are a few of the non-traditional methods you need to consider.
1. Flyers
Flyers are a great way to get the word out about your business in general or something specific you want everyone to know about. It’s important to include just enough information to get them to either call you or visit your website. You need to make sure these are easy to read and you need to make sure you include contact information.
Flyers can be handed out at a craft fair, mailed to people, left in a waiting room, or folded and left on cars or screen doors. You need to make sure you check the laws in your community before you do these things so you don’t get into trouble. It’s also a good idea to check with business owners if you plan to leave your flyers in their business location.
2. Open House
Some businesses have open houses regularly to promote what they offer. These types of businesses would include direct sales businesses that offer candles, makeup, cleaning products, and jewelry to name a few.
An open house gives you the ability to show off your products and share everything you can about those products. It also gives you the ability to show the people attending why they need to purchase from you and how your products will make things better for them.
While the traditional marketing techniques are important and should be used regularly, it’s also important to use those that aren’t regularly used. It’s possible those non-traditional ways may work better, but you wouldn’t know if you didn’t try them.
