When you run a home based business your website is your store front. It’s the only way people know what you offer and what your prices are. This is the main reason it’s important to have it look as professional as possible.

If you’re series with your business you must be series about your website and that means you must have a site that looks professional. The best way to do this is to pay for your website each month. You’ll want to pay the yearly fee for a domain name and a monthly fee for your hosting. Free sites often times have ads on them that you have no control over and the domain in the address bar will include more then the domain you choose. For example, if you use blogger for a blog your domain will read “yourdomain.blogger.com”.

Another thing you need to keep in mind when it comes to your site is the open time. If you have too many images or video’s on your site, the open time will be lengthy and this may cause people to close it without seeing what you offer. The easiest way to decide if you can do an affiliate program for your business is to know if you can do it or not based on your business. If you receive checks from a company the answer is no, but if you receive payments yourself from clients and you don’t report to anyone but yourself, then you may be able to do it. Companies like Avon, Sentsy, and Lia Sophia don’t allow you to do an affiliate program because you’re basically an affiliate for them. Preparing meals can take up a good chunk of your day if you allow it to happen. When you plan it won’t take nearly as long as you think. If you plan to shop for one week at a time, you need to take time to come up with meals you plan to have for the week. Plan all of your meals so you have enough food to get you through. The fewer trips to the store you make the more time you’ll have to do what you need to do.

If you know you’re going to have a busy day or week, plan for crockpot meals or meals that take a short amount of time to prepare. Partnerships are really popular right now. The main reason is because starting a new business is hard to do on your own. There’s a lot of work to be done and money that needs to be invested.
