Suggestions for Reaching your Goals by Working your Plan

Wednesday, January 11th, 2012

Now that you’ve set your goals and the first week of the New Year is over it’s time to get a jump start on doing what it will take to reach your goals. Hopefully when you created your goals you wrote out a plan that will help you accomplish them. If you didn’t write this plan, now is the time to get it done.

When you write you plan it needs to be step by step instructions that will guide you through the process needed to reach your goals. The steps will tell you exactly what you need to do to reach your goals and have success, so it’s important to write them up so you can put them into action immediately.

Once you have your plan in place it’s time to start implementing the steps necessary to reach success. Review your plan and look to see what MUST be done by you in order to reach your goals. Depending on the type of business you have, you may need to make phone calls to set appointments, give presentations, and close the deal. Those are things nobody but you can handle.

You may have included article marketing, blog posts, and social networking on your list of goals or they may have been included in your plan as a way to grow your presents online. Those are tasks you can outsource to a Virtual Assistant or Ghostwriter. When you outsource these tasks you’ll have more time to devote to those tasks we just talked about. You’ll have more time to increase the amount of calls you make and presentations you give, which in turn will help you reach your goals. read more

Do you Adjust your Goals?

Sunday, January 9th, 2011

The first full week of the year is over. How did you do with your goals? Did you write them down and put them into small daily or weekly goals that were easy to accomplish? If you didn’t, you need to do this step right away so you can have the success you strive for with your business. If you did write your goals down, keep up the good work because you’re going to see the hard work pay off.

One thing you need to know is your goals are not set in stone. Life changes and so does your business, so you may need to adjust accordingly, but that’s ok. There’s nothing wrong with changing things as life changes. We can’t predict how life will be from day to day and our business is the same way.

You may find the company you represent changes their policies, ways to grow your business or the tools you have available to grow and all of that means you need to change as well. For example, if you work for a direct sales company that doesn’t have a monthly requirement and all of a sudden that changes, you may need to change your goal so you know what it’s going to take to achieve this requirement each month. Another example would be if you represent a company that doesn’t allow you to grow online and now they do, you’ll need to adjust your goals so you can begin to grow online. read more

Setting Goals for Your Business

Monday, December 27th, 2010

The New Year is almost here and that means people will be setting resolutions. While the practice of resolutions is something people I have done for years, I feel they don’t work because they don’t appear to be something you want to achieve. This is why I set goals. No matter if it’s for personal or business I call them goals. When I do this I achieve them more often than if I were to call them a resolution.

When you run a business it’s a good idea to set goals. Goals help you take your business to the next level and they keep you on track. You need to remember if you continue to do the same thing day after day you’re not going to go anywhere with your business which means your income won’t grow and you won’t reach higher levels with your business. read more

When is a few Businesses too Many?

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

Some people think one business is enough, but others have a different opinion of that. They think if they’ve worked their business for a few months and they’re not making enough money to meet their needs, they need to add more businesses to their list. While that may work for some people, most of the time it’s not a good thing to do.

The reason for this is you don’t have enough time to work the business in the way it needs to be run to see success. If you have two or three businesses that you’re running, you may be ok, but if you add more then that, you’ll find you can’t do what it takes to grow all of them in the right way.

The more businesses you work, the less time you’re going to have to advertise, market, and do what it takes to grow. If you work businesses that require parties or meetings and you have more then a couple, it will not work. You need to spend the time required to reach success. read more
